Stainless exhaust canopies under fabrication in the workshop

Most sheet metal jobs through our Arundel workshop take between one and four weeks from approved drawings to install. Where your job lands in that range depends less on how long it takes to cut and fold, and more on what happens before and after: drawings, materials, finishes and site readiness.

What actually decides the timeline

Approved drawings. This is the biggest one. We don't cut anything until sizes and finishes are signed off, because metal is expensive to remake. If the drawings are still changing, the job can't start. Final dimensions measured on site often matter too, especially for benches that fit between walls.

Material. Common grades and sheet sizes in 304 stainless, mild steel and aluminium are easy to get. Specialty grades, thicker plate or unusual sizes can add time while we source them.

Finishes that go out. Brushed and polished stainless is finished in our workshop. Powder coating and anodising are done by a specialist coater, which adds time to the job. Allow for that in your program when you pick a powder-coated colour.

Complexity. A straight bench is quick. Curves, lots of cut-outs, or many parts that have to line up on site take longer to make and check.

The workshop schedule. We plan the workshop week by week. Jobs with approved drawings get booked in, so the sooner your drawings are final, the sooner your job gets a slot.

Site readiness. We can't install until the site is ready for us. If walls, services or flooring aren't finished, install moves.

How to get your job in sooner

  • Send drawings early, even before they're final. We can flag issues and price it while you finish them.

  • Confirm finishes at quote time, especially powder coat colours.

  • Give us site measurements or book us in to measure.

  • Tell us your install date up front so we can plan back from it.

  • Package the metalwork. Stainless, steel and aluminium can all come from us as one job, which is easier to program than several suppliers.

Getting a realistic date

The easiest way to get a realistic date is to send the drawings early and talk it through with us. Call 0497 829 990 or email admin@trsfabrication.com.au.

Send the drawings through and we'll come back with a price. Quotes are free, no obligation.
